WHAT IS A SKIN BOOSTER?
A skin booster is an injectable treatment that uses hyaluronic acid (HA) to hydrate and improve the skin's appearance. Skin boosters are a less invasive alternative to anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers.
WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SKIN BOOSTERS AND FILLER?
Skin boosters and dermal fillers, whilst both containing hyaluronic acid (HA) as the main ingredient, are not interchangeable when it comes to offering skin ageing treatments; they behave in different ways. Skin boosters are not cross-linked so are usually much thinner in consistency and therefore, have a greater spread. Generally, skin boosters can be used to soften fine lines, hydrate, and improve the texture and condition of the skin. Dermal fillers on the other hand are generally used when volumisation, contouring, or augmentation is required in specific areas of the face such as cheeks or lips.

WHO IS SKIN BOOSTERS FOR?
As we age, the presence of hyaluronic acid in the skin naturally starts to drop, which causes the skin to lose its natural firmness and elasticity. Most people begin to see the effects of hyaluronic acid depletion as they reach their 30s – and skin boosters are the perfect treatment for anyone looking to counteract this.

WHERE CAN SKIN BOOSTERS BE USED?
Skin boosters are usually administered into the skin in five key areas (when administered to the face): the tops of cheeks, side of the face, lines around the mouth, nasolabial folds and laughter lines. HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Depending on lifestyle and quality of skin the results can last anywhere between 6-12 months. However, top ups are highly recommended if you are finding the results aren't lasting as long as you hope. This will all be down to lifestyle and your anatomy.

WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME & AFTERCARE?
It is common to leave the clinic with lots of little bumps on the treated area. This is the result we want so don't panic! it can take up to a week to lessen but others can heal within a day, to all depends on how well your body responds to these things.

The after care is the same as all other aesthetics treatments,

WHAT ARE POLYNUCLEOTIDES?

Polynucleotides are chains of nucleotides, which are essentially the building blocks that make up DNA. DNA controls many important bodily functions, including how the skin develops. When polynucleotide chains are introduced to the skin (through multiple small injections), they help damaged DNA cells in the skin to repair and as a result, the cells function better. For instance, polynucleotides stimulate fibroblast cells, which help form connective tissues like collagen and elastin – the essential proteins that provide the skin with shape, volume, and a youthful appearance.
The polynucleotide chains can also:

PLENHYAGE​

Plenhyage XL is an innovative injectable skin treatment developed by Bioformula. Unlike traditional hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers, it uses polynucleotides (PDRNs). These are the building blocks of protein, which in turn, activates cell functions that promotes hyaluronic acid synthesis, boosting collagen production, and stimulating fibroblast growth. As such, Plenhyage XL improves skin quality, thickness, and hydration while promoting collagen formation.
This versatile treatment addresses various skin concerns, including acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, and signs of aging. In addition to its great quality of addressing a wide range of skin concerns, this treatment also prevents such concerns from occurring. It works on two levels: prevention and repair. The high molecular weight polynucleotides in Plenhyage XL repair, revitalize, and regenerate facial tissues, leading to a more youthful appearance.

ABOUT ANTI WRNKLE
Lines and wrinkles are natural and everyone will get them eventually, They appear because of the continuous use of the muscles in the face in our everyday expressions and because as we age our bodies ability to produce collagen and elastin slows down.
​
So what do we do about this when we are not ready to embrace the lines and wrinkles?
Botox.
Botox is a Neurotoxin known as Botulinum Toxin which we carefully inject into the muscles of the face which relaxes the muscles and stops the overuse of the muscle.
The toxin is injected into the muscle and is released to the nerve endings. This then blocks the chemical signals coming from the brain reaching the muscles and telling them to move. This in effect prevents lines and wrinkles from appearing!
Relaxing specific muscles and stopping them from contracting prevents the show of lines and wrinkles.
Please note- it can take up to 2 weeks to see the full results from your Anti-wrinkle Treatment.
Anti-wrinkle is a temporary treatment and usually lasts around 3 months.

We can also use Botox for other uses such as:

Masseter- this can help prevent teeth grinding/clenching, enable slimming of the jaw and reduce the size of the muscle in the jaw due to reduction of use.

Nose slimming- carefully placed botox in the nose can help slim the nose and help the nostril 'flare' look reduced. It can also help in creating that 'tink' look too.

Lip flip- Place botox into the vermillion border can help flip the top lip upwards very subtle to make the top lip look slightly bigger. It is a really natural effect but is also a great way to get the idea of what lip filler could possibly look like without having to commit to lip filler.

Gummy smile- If you find that when you smile you show a lot of gum, placing botox near the lip can help relax that lip muscle, which can help reduce the amount of gum shown when smiling.

Platysma- If you notice that your platysma bands are really strong in your neck, that you have these thick vertical bands in your neck, platysma botox can help calm them down and make them less obvious. tightening them up and having a smoother neck.

ABOUT HYALURONIDASE
Hyalase (Hyaluronidase) contains the active ingredient hyaluronidase, which is an enzyme that is produced naturally by the body that catalyse the degradation of hyaluronic acid (filler).

As you all know, lip fillers are becoming increasingly popular, which means we are also seeing a lot of patients seeking corrections or dissolving. Here at Olivia Tuck Beauty we are qualified to use the product called Hyalase, which can dissolve unwanted or botched filler.
We also offer a service to our clients to dissolve their filler if they are unhappy with the results, free of charge. However, we always urge that clients return to their previous practitioner for them to dissolve their own work if they can. It’s important to make sure that your practitioner is fully qualified to use dissolving agents, as this is a completely separate qualification that we’re proud to hold here at Olivia Tuck Beauty.

Everyone has questions, and rightly so! Here are a few of the common questions we get asked. But if you have further question please pop us a message and we will endeavour to answer them for you.
What are the side effects?
When you enhance your body there WILL always be a risk of side effects. The most common being bruising, swelling, tenderness, redness, temporary lumps or unevenness, tingling or stinging. All of these side effects may come and go during the three weeks after your treatment. It is important to strictly follow your aftercare, specifically drinking lots of water and reduce any activities which significantly dehydrate the body (e.g alcohol consumption, caffeine or smoking). There is also a risk of adverse reactions which includes, but not limited to: anaphylactic shock, ulceration, scarring, stiffening, unplanned immunological reactions, and infection. See your doctor immediately for you experience extreme swelling or develop a fever.
What is the aftercare?
Here at Olivia Tuck Beauty, we care about the full process of your journey with us. Therefore we will go through all the after care in person with you. We will also provide you with our aftercare leaflet and will regularly check in with you during the 21 day healing period.
Can my filler be dissolved?
Yes absolutely! Here at Olivia Tuck Beauty we have the ability to dissolve your filler.
Whilst the body does naturally break down the filler, if you want this process to happen quicker we can use a product called Hyaluronidase. Hyaluronidase is produced naturally in the body to break down products like filler, therefore by injecting more, we can safely break down filler quicker. You usually see results within 3-4 days.
What is lidocaine
Some of our products may contain Lidocaine, which is a local anaesthetic that causes a temporary numbing affect.
As this is a chemical, the body can sometimes not recognise it and cause minor allergic reaction such as localised swelling. This is usually very minor and swelling/bruising should fade within 48-72 hours. However, we strongly advise that if you experience any severe side affects that you seek medical attention immediately.
If you have any other concerns please contact us and if you have ever had any reaction to local anaesthetic please make us aware before your appointment so that we can make sure Lidocaine is not used.
Is there an age limit?
Yes! You need to be 18+ in order to have aesthetic treatments. We may ask you for proof of ID if we feel necessary so please be prepared for this.
What ml do I need?
This can vary from client to client and depends on what aesthetic goal you are wanting to achieve. Don't worry this can be discussed thoroughly in your consultation.
However in general here is what is usually allocated per area:

Can I have before and after pictures of myself?
We will always take before and after pictures for your record and for insurance purposes. However, if you would like your picture please ask, we will always strive to get these sent to you if you want them but please understand that we are very busy and it may take a while.
When filling in your consent forms we ask you if we can use your pictures for social media purposes. This choice is completely up to you.

Can you make it look natural?
Absolutely! There is a myth that fillers look fake, but this doesn't have to be the case. During your consultation, we will discuss in depth the look you want.
Please be aware that you will have swelling after treatment and healing can take up to 21 days.

How long does filler last?
On average, filler lasts between 3-8 months. However this all depends on your lifestyle and aftercare.
If you drink 2 litres of water a day, reduce alcohol content and don't smoke (this includes vapes) you could increase longevity to up to a year.

Can I have treatment if I suffer from cold sores?
Yes, if you regularly suffer from cold sores you are still able to have lip filler. However, it is important that you follow pre care and aftercare strictly in order to avoid spread of infection. Please make us aware in advance as we will ask that you go to the doctors and get a prescription for Zoviax tablets, which should be taken 4 days prior and 4 days post treatment.
